While playing football at the University of Minnesota, Ted Harrison sustained a neck injury that debilitated him for almost a year. At the time, he was a biology major with the intention of going pre-med. However, after meeting a newly licensed chiropractor who performed an adjustment on Ted that allowed him to turn his head for the first time in many months, he made a decision to pursue Chiropracty -- a practice that he has been committed to with unrelenting dedication and continuous education since 1992.

He attended school during the day and ran a small gym until midnight. Once licensed, he opened his chiropractic clinic in an adjacent office to the gym and was the first to incorporate chiropractic with stretching and strengthening in a gym setting, a concept that others thought was crazy. The Gym is still an integral part of his North Suburban Healthcare. He is now in a state-of-the-art facility in Coon Rapids that he built in 2008 with a SBA loan from CMDC.

Ted had envisioned his dream clinic/gym for many years and in 2007, he saw the "land for sale" sign on an undeveloped lot in Coon Rapids that would be perfect for his facility. The developer suggested CMDC to secure the loan through SBA. Dr. Harrison said, "I thought the SBA would be a nightmare, but CMDC was great. Together with my bank, they made the paperwork manageable. It was so much easier than I ever thought it would be! And, owning is so much better than renting."

The two-story, 10,000 square foot facility features the North Suburban Healthcare clinic with a reception area, three exam rooms, massage room and The Gym 365, an 8,000 square foot fitness center which is open 24 hours, 7 days a week and is used for patients' rehabilitation as well as a training center.

Dr. Harrison is committed to educating himself and strives to learn everything he can in order to treat patients with the best care. My philosophy is, "Do everything I can for the patient - focus on the patient." He is currently one of only fifteen doctors in the country who is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist and the only one in the State of Minnesota to receive Certification of Completion from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego (SRISD) in automobile crash and reconstruction with forensics and risk analysis. He has partnered with Dr. Richard Tollefson, D.C. in the clinic and has a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a massage therapist on staff.
